PREPARE YOURSELF for quite a shocking video. This is a clip of a police biker trying to stop traffic in (we think) Germany. The poor sod manages to divert a lorry but gets taken out by another driver. The policeman in question ended up with severe injuries, including broken vertebrae, however has has since made a full recovery. Good job.

Glad the police biker made a full recovery. Hard to tell the distance in the video, but the lorry driver looks like he had enough distance to stop, and could have blocked both traffic lanes in doing so. But again - hard to tell for sure..............

considering the follow distance of all vehicles involved, and the much delayed attempt to steer away form the biker, i dont think that stopping distance was the issue at all.
the cager simply didnt look far enough to match his speed, or "didnt see" the bright yellow biker with flashing lights.

i'm a little surprised this happened in Germany. i was under the impression that thanks to the stringent drivers license requirements there drivers had these safety skills second nature to them.

in my driving experience in NJ a trucker in a similar citation here would have hit the emergency lights to warn drivers behind him of the lane block ahead.
