ETZ 251 Cafe Racer Project for sale, Sheffield UK. £800 ONO.

ETZ 251 with many spares and new parts. Runs and rides, has a current MOT (6 months left), but declared SORN, and just needs some TLC to finish it off. I have the log book. It’s done a fair few miles (the previous owner used it for commuting), but the engine is very strong and was apparently re-built less than 5000KM ago.
I used the bike in its ‘GS’ guise over last winter and did about 500KM on it and it was fine.

The first photos show the bike when I bought it (like a GS), the next photos show what it looks like now.

I bought the bike to use for one winter then do up for my other half to use, and basically just for a bit of garage fun. I need to clear out the garage and she wants a modern 4 stroke, so the project has to go.

It has an Aluminium tank and fenders, plus a new Powerdynamo (self timing ignition, no need for a battery even with lights!) and the frame is in very good condition with hardly any rust at all (even inside). Wire spoke wheels with oversize rims and tires that cost me £200. It has no ignition, just a kill switch, turn it on and kick it and off it goes (usually first kick too!), just like a 2-stroke motocross bike.

This would make a nice easy project for someone with the time, plus it has a tonne of spares and 2 official service manuals with it.

Photos (some are old, I'll add a final photo of how it looks now in my next post, when I get home tonight) -

Included on the bike as it is now –

Spoke wheels with oversize rims and tires (a good £200 worth on their own)
A full Powerdynamo stator that removes the need for a battery, even with lights (cost £250 from Germany)
A custom wiring harness to run the ignition, lights, horn etc from the Powerdynamo.
A custom made aluminium tray to house the electronics under the single seat.
A custom single seat.
An aluminium polished petrol tank (worth £100 on its own)
The oil tank and pump have been removed (but I still have them) so it runs on pre-mix.
A side stand and centre stand.
An up and over off road style exhaust with expansion chamber (needs a few holes welding and re-painting if you keep it on).
Machined aluminium bar ends and bar end mirrors.
Off road-style bars.
K&N style airfilter.

Extras included with the bike (in serviceable condition) –

A tubular steel rack for the back of the bike (powder coated black).
A set of off road wheels (cast aluminium) that have recently been painted (good bearings and good tires, includes disc and axles. Rear Includes full drum brake assy and sprocket carrier! £200s worth on their own).
Some side panels/airbox bits.
Original wiring harness.
Original Clocks.
Oil pump and oil tank and all cables.
Full set of indicators.
A spare headlight assy.
Spare lower fork legs.
An Aluminium rear fender (no paint, can be polished).
An aluminium front fender (no paint can be polished - full of holes, but could be repaired).
Front fender brackets.
New chain guides/gators.
2X chain enclosures and speedo drives.
21 and 19 tooth front sprockets.
New speedo cable, and several other cables.
Some stainless pipes (same diameter as header), I was going to get this welded up into a new exhaust but haven’t had the time.
Various powder coated brackets for indicators etc....
A box or general nuts and bolts!

What needs doing to get the bike on the road.

Drum brake has internal brake light switch, just needs wiring up into the harness.
Bike has no speedo at the min, but would suit a small digital (push bike) computer. - not required for MOT but obviously a good idea to have one.
Front fork seals have gone, need replacing.
New chain, the old one is a bit stiff in places.
New exhaust or recondition old one.
A number plate bracket and rear light bracket (the rear light is on a temporary bracket at the min).
Swing arm could do with a bit of paint.

To make it really nice it just needs some painting and polishing. Just some time and care really.

Collection only from north Sheffield, payment in cash or Paypal.

Looking for £800 for the lot. It'll be going on ebay in a week or so.

Cheers,
Steve.
