Greetings,

I always hesitate to use the work mint but this bike is only 1200 gently driven miles away from new and its condition reflects it. The original owner ordered it from a dealership in the states and had it shipped to him from Germany. He had the bike painted a custom black color at the factory and had it serviced and inspected each year, kept it in his garage and drove it whenever the impulse hit him, never over 50 mph! It's currently PA state inspected till May '09 and in perfect conditon. New battery, oil change and filter, air filter, and gone over this spring at a local shop by a MZ mechanic. I don't believe there are many '02 Tours stateside in this shape. Better pictures link on my current Craigslist ad... http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/mcy/736580985.html

2950.00

Regards,

Jim.

That would be your charcoal "evap" cannister. It catches any gas that might spill or evaporate out. Most owners of the unfaired bikes take that thing off the second they get the bike. I'm pretty sure it's just there to clear the Swiss emissions laws, but there could be some other reason too. Perhaps you need them in California? Anyhow, it's a BMW part, and it's a cinch to get it off.

This is from a different thread but answers your question.
