Warts and All...
- bought new from Gardner & White, of Stoke Goldington
- it's my summer toy, so kept in storage during winters
- Front discs warped after 6000 miles but were replaced under warranty.
- One of the welds in the exhaust (the one just before the RHS catalyzer) cracked last year, after about 9000 miles. I had it welded back and has given me no problems at all since.
- On August 11th, 2007 the bike went down during a track day at Rockingham. I was hit on the side from a guy coming from behind and trying to overtake me. The bike slid on the track on the left side, and suffered extensive cosmetic damage. I have rebuilt it using all new parts, and started riding it again at the beginning of April 2008, after the winter pause. I have now done more than 1000 miles on it and I am satisfied it runs true and straight, and there are no mechanical consequences from the crash.
- I am based in London but willing to travel a bit if you are interested and would like to have a look at the bike.
- Test ride possible, with the usual conditions.
- Bad points: very lumpy in town, pitiful steering lock, mirrors vibrate too much, engine needs to be revved to give the best, so pottering in third gear in the traffic is a definite no-no.
- Good points: very precise handling, wonderful stability, excellent wind protection, confortable seating. A very rewarding bike to ride.
