MZ 660 race bike built for reliability
39 FCR's carbs
Very low miles on:
Hotcranks Raptor crankshaft and rod
Lightened Raptor rotor, charging magnet removed
Stage I HotCams cam
Stage II valve spring kit
No charging coils
Yamaha Raptor head and valves, should be good for 9,000 rpms
Water pump and oil pump
2 miles on new Yamaha cylinder and piston stock bore and compression
I pulled the low mileage engine top end when a small oil leak appeared.
Decided on a new Yamaha cylinder piston to maximize engine life.
Basics
I went to the Raptor crank and rod assy due to price, availability, and reliability. The
unit can be rebuilt or quickly replaced with another new unit.
Stage I cam gives good power spread.
Short muffler known for good topend. (bottom end power is still great)
Always limited to stock MZ rev limiter for engine reliability 5250 RPMs
05? Honda 600RR rear shock resprung
Stock forks springs and forks
Stock wheels and brakes, except SV rear m/c on SV rearsetsRace clip-on bars
’99 R6 bodywork with Beasley tail.
SV rearsets
Rod style steering damper
Starter retained for ease of use. No push start needed if race start delayed for red flag at
end of last race, or stalled engine.
