Many years ago some guy did most of North America and South America on a 250.
I met someone who rode from the UK, across much of Eastern Europe and evn managed Moscow. Bike conked out when he got off the ferry back in the UK and he had to ring up his dad to pick him up.
Know of someone who did a fair bit of australia on a Rotax 500.
Someone else who did a trip around Chile and Argentina on a 250.
Someone else who did Iceland on a 250. Ruined the forks.
Old East German MZ literature had tales of MZ trips into the wilds of the Caucuses and beyond and I think ther was a trip in Australia on ETZ250s.

A few years back some MZ competed in the Paris Dakar. Basically modified Baghiras. Did not win but most finished.

Plenty of trips around Europe, from North to South.
Many years ago a German bike magazine did a readers survey on best bike for touring.

1 BMW
2 MZ
3 Vespa Scooter. Do not laugh, you should see the local born again mods off to rally camps on there old Lambrettas and Vespas.

My persoanl expereince has been France and Germany on a 150, two up and camping kit. France and the Pyrenees on a 250, Ireland on 250 and spain and France on the Skorpion.

MZ have got around in their day.

Hi,
Did your 150 tour get posted online? I remember reading a description of one from the early 80's.

With the proper light weight camping gear the new rt125 model does well on the long haul
just do not get in a hurry
367 mi x2 =734 miles in 5 days plus run around there .parkersburg wv to buffalo ny and return
about 10 hours in a day takes 2 days on the Saxon Tour with 500cc rotax cause it beats the hell out of you
