Hi all
even though I'm new to the Forum I've been lurking for years not registered. Lots of good info and friendly people on the Board.
I have an "old" yellow Skorpion Sport -95, bored out to 672 cc, cam, ported head, hi comp piston, modified CDI, BSM vampire exhaust but other than that completely stock
Bought the Bike back in 2000 as a stop gap for a trip to the Isle of Man TT, the reason being that Wunderlich (who at that time still catered to Yamaha thumpers) messed up and sent me a SR500 cam instead of the SRX600 part I had ordered, making a big dent in my rebuild schedule of that bike. Anyway the MuZ never made it to the TT as I was pushed over a traffic isle on the way to the ferry to Newcastle from Gothenburg, smashing both wheels to pieces, ending up having to borrow a Suzuki GSX 400E (astmatic little twin) to make the trip, but that's another story.
Later that year the MuZ redeemed itself by carrying me on a long trip to Assen for SBK races and Schoorl for the International SRX Treffen.
Lately I have been trying to figure out why it does not run properly on WOT, app at 2/3 gas there is no more response, found out that the CV diaphragm does not enjoy being in contact with modern uleaded gas so I got me a 4 mm distance ring to raise the top of the vacuum chamber enough to allow for full throttle movement, problem solved.
The only problem now is that I also got my hands on a set of TM34-B65 Mikunis set up for a SZR Supermono racer which should work wonders on throttle response... on the other hand the MuZ runs pretty well as is and I have a SRX-6 (ported, cam , piston) which also could benefit from this... decicions, desicions, descisions ...
My other bikes are a yamaha SRX-6 which I bought back in 1997 (tuned engine, single seat conversion etc.), a Mini Mx thumper 125cc, 14"/12" wheels using a honda clone engine, a bicycle with an 49cc 2-stroke engine kit mounted. The Polaris 6x6 in not technically a bike but it runs a 500cc single cylinder 4-stroke at least. I also have a Honda VTR1000f -00 (superhawk) bought just for riding and not to tinker too much with as I have enough projects as is.. unfortunately I have noticed that there is room for "improvement" also on the VTR, lightened flywheel and suspension upgrade front and rear is in the pipe, along with a Beowulf exhaust and some cosmetics.
Other than that I also run a small mailing list SRXTT listan (up and running since 2000) and a web forum SRXTT Forum with tips, tricks, downloads etc with focus on Nordic riders so any Nordic users on this Forum feel free to contribute.
