A recent leak has revealed nine new promo cards coming to Pokemon TCG Pocket, including some highly anticipated designs. Promo cards in the game are known for being as rare as the most coveted cards, often obtained through limited-time events and featuring unique differences compared to their regular versions.

Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Genetic Apex set, the game’s first expansion, includes 23 promo cards, with notable ones like Pikachu and Mewtwo available through the Premium Pass. The Pikachu card is no longer available, while Lapras ex, the only card dedicated to the Kanto Water-type, was the major reward in the first Solo Battles event. Shared by Reddit user itsprimo, the leak includes nine new cards, featuring a fresh Pikachu card with adorable artwork, along with Eevee and Charmander in equally charming designs. Other cards in the leak include Cinccino, Squirtle in a playful style, and Snivy and Volcarona. A standout addition is a new Blastoise promo card, as well as a Moltres ex card.

Additionally, Twitter user pokegirllauren has provided insight into the timing of two of these promos. The Blastoise card is expected to be released in January 2025 as part of a Solo Battle event, similar to the Venusaur event. The Pikachu card is also set for a January release, though the method for obtaining it remains a mystery. Other hints include cards marked with blue, potentially related to rewards from the Blastoise event, and red-marked cards, which are likely tied to a future Wonder Pick event. While the availability of Moltres ex remains uncertain, it will be the fifth version of the Legendary Kanto bird in the ex card series.

In addition to these exciting new promos, players of deNA’s mobile game can look forward to the release of the first mini-set, Mythical Island, which introduces 68 new cards. Among them is the highly anticipated Celebi ex, already being called one of the most powerful cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket due to its synergy with other recently introduced cards.
