Anyone have an idea how I can get the thermostat on my 1000s to turn the fans on at a lower temperature? I think the fans should turn on sooner.

After 6 years of ownership, my fans went on last week for the first time- hot day and idling for a while in my driveway.

Can't help you on that one....How many bars show on the dash when moving? Mine shows four bars, even down in the south with 95+ degree temps as of late. At a stop all bars will light, but they never have flashed (which the manual says you should shut it down if that happens) My fans will run for short periods at idle, usually after a good flogging, but I'm not too worried. I'm running engine ice, before it was the factory coolant which I recall it running at five bars while rolling.

I realize this post is almost a year old but just wanted to say that i have a couple of Aprilia's and spend time on that forum and some members that feel that their bikes run hot wire a switch direct from the battery or fuse box up to the bars/clip ons then direct to the fans so they can control when the fans run.I have read this a few times on that forum...Just a thought feed them 12 V and they run.
