BMC only made one filter for a (now defunct) dealer here in the states back when the 1000 was introduced. They were wanting to get around 10 or so owners who wanted a filter in order to have a small batch made up.....it never happened.
Maybe there's something available from Germany? Theres nothing out there already existing that will fit. Its unique, and there's nothing that Ive seen that can be made to fit straight away, I've looked, and studied possible options. About the only option would be to cut out the entire paper section of the stock filter, cut down a K&N/BMC filter to fit within the plastic filter frame, and than epoxy the thing to it. It's possible, but then I imagine butchering up a $40-60 filter to do this and mucking it all up! The stock item will filter better than the K&N/BMC oiled gauze types, and I probably would'nt even notice any possible gains, so my new logic is that I'd rather have the best filtering media over any slight performance gains from a BMC type, as well as avoiding possibly destroying two good filters to do it.
