ok, so it was at the races thanks to some MZ feild reps, but it was still neat to be able to check the bike out. Overall build quality seems good, and the riding position is sporty without feeling like the clip ons are at knee level.
I snapped a pic of my buddy steve static testing it:

looks like a very comfy riding position. It is a Paralell twin right?

Yeah but I'm not sure if I like the red and white. And the tires look a wee bit small.

I know that MZ 1000 is a pretty good size bike, but did someone put that Scorpion Sport in the back, in the dryer too long. I always thought they were a little small, but a picture is worth a thousand words.

Yup, parallel twin, counterbalanced, EFI, six-speed gearbox, Marzocchi front and Sachs rear (fully adjustable at both ends), aluminum swingarm, steel frame.

No noticeable vibrations in bars, tank, or seat--a little more at the pegs.
39 MPG average for 170 miles at 85-90 mph. Seat is tall and wide, but perfect once you are moving. Good power, very good (stable) handling, good brakes, beautiful styling.

More to come,

John
