Hi Folks,
At the first N/West branch meet at Horwich, Bolton, Ged arranged the weather as promised!!! Brilliant sunshine.
2 bikes........ Black SF (super exhaust!) and Blue ST in attendance at Rivington Barn Sunday bike meet.
At one point conversation turned to the subject of fuel consumption, and as I have just done the overnight run from Cheshire to Galway will quote the following stats. All on ST with 17/45 sprocket set up. Bike mileage 12000.
1. Steady indicated 80mph and 4600rpm panniers loaded. Fuel light on at 137 miles immediate stop and refill takes 15.1 litres 40 - 41 mpg
2. Best ever slow A road riding was 172 miles to Fuel light and a range of 208 miles (still didn't run out) which worked out at 54 mpg.
3. Worst ever Fuel light on at 124 miles, no other details. approx 37 mpg
4. Max refill so far from memory (without running out) 20.5 litres.
Anyway, my experience for what it is worth! Cheers J2T
