I have sorted the Baggy !, & after reading your comments this sounds like a common fault . . .

The problem is where the ignition switch connects to the loom. The red wire has corroded in the multi block connector. . .

Word to you all out there, find this connector and drown it in vaseline (petroleum jelly)

Cheers Guys !

Just sorted another problem with my electrics. A car driver, completly out of character, followed me for about 3 miles and when I stopped he told me my rea light was out. What a nice guy.
Looked at bike when I got home and found that there was no electrical feed to the side lamp circuit. There was however power comming out of the headlamp switch. Put a tempoary feed from the connector for the light switch to the front side lamp wiring for now to get the lights working.
I will let you know when I find where the fault is.
It would seem the electrical wiring on these bikes is not the best.

wires

Postby DAVID THOMPSON » Sat Dec 17, 2005 11:41 am

when i bought the rt125 in 2002 i inspected the whole bike
and found that the wire harness was routed wrong in several places
the wires to the rear turn signals were ran in a path that had them
as tight as the strings on a banjo it took me almost a hole day to
get thing to where i was happy with the wire harness
most of the plastic tie wraps were replaced as they were so tight
i was sure they would cut the wires

i have lost 1 voltage reg. 1starter relay..... oem battery was junk
replaced first week i owned the bike

and the small wires from battery into the bike died at the first plug
in the loom plug X16b where it goes to voltage reg...
