Ts 125 vibration

Postby Robmzetz » Mon Sep 23, 2024 12:04 pm

Hello good people. I have put back together a 1986 mz ts 125. The engine has been rebuilt apparently.
There was a dramatic amount of vibration when I ran it. I've had the clutch side off. Clutch is indeed a new one. There was some movement back and forth on the cluch shaft. This was caused by the front sprocket not being as tight as it could be. Fixed that and folded the washer over. Went over the whole bike and made sure everything is tight. The bike now has some vibration but a million miles from when I first ran it. My question is. As the engine bolts straight to the frame with no rubber bushes etc what is the expected amount of vibration? Or am I looking at something more serious? Crank balance? Thank you in advance.

It is hard to quantify vibration, but on mine it's unobtrusive up to about 55mph. Above that it feels as if the engine is shaking to bits.
I would say that if the vibration makes the bike unpleasant to ride there may be a problem.
