Dellorto Pumpers on 660

Postby sapperk9 » Mon Jan 28, 2008 5:49 pm

Has anyone ever fitted Dellorto Carbies on a Skorpion?

I'd be interested in any comments.

No, because no straight pull carb fits under the tank and two Dellortos also do not fit next to each other.
There is a 33mm dual Keihin CR-2 available that fits when the bellcrank mechanism has been modified.

Obviously also available in 35, 37 and 39 which are all too big for stock road use, tho.
The Keihin FCR35 for the SRX fits ,too.

The only out-of-the-box alternatives to the stock carb are the Mikuni and Keihin Raptor kits in which the bellcranks have already been modified to fit under a tank.
Here is the Mikuni TM34-70

here is the standard version for comparison

All alternatives obviously need modifications to the cables.

Same mod on mine, i also had to use a raptor cooling system link-pipe(comes out of head) to fit cables to my FCR39's on my Baggy, otherwise it wouldn't work!

Thanks for the advice, as disenhartrening as it is, sob!

You see my best mate owns the local Guzzi shop and I can get the Dellorto for a song. I put one on a DR 350 some time back and it went like a bloody steam train afterwards and was about 20% more economical. Of course jetting was a breeze as the Guzzi shop has all that was needed at no charge.

I've got a spare tank, couldn't I cut a hole in it a glass it up? Joking!

Its just that for the past 5,000 km I seem to be working on the bloody carbies more than on riding, if you know what I mean.

Safe riding to all, and thankyou again,

Jim
