chain type

Hi,

can anyone give me chain number of links, type etc. think i may need a new chain. thinking of putting a one tooth smaller sprocket or bigger sprocket on back ,so that will influence chain length.

Original lenghth please

is it the SM or the enduro?

the SM normally has 15/43. I changed it to 14/43 but don't like it that much. I used a 520 chain with 112 links
the enduro I think has originally 15/45 with 114 links

el-mar, what do you not like about the 14/43 set up? I've been thinking about doing it but was concerned with perhaps the chain rubbing the swingarm. Is there a noticeable improvement in accelleration?

I'm running 15/45 which seems to suit the bike as tha standard gearing is to long, anything less than a 3 -1 ratio makes the bike too revvy, wemoto do a good x ring kit for around £80 delivered

15/45 sounds good to me as i had heard that anything less than 15 on the front is not kind to the chain. don't know why.

my chain is clicking a bit and has a few tight spots, so looks like a good deal to me.

what is the quality of chain and sprockets fbor £8 isit any good ?

I have the SM and expected to get that better acceleration.
- 55mph and faster it is noticably better
- the rpms and the sound however at that speed was much better before
- lower speed I don't really feel better acceleration because I have to shift faster

I'm probably going back to 15/43 next time as I'm usually running back roads

the quality of the chain seems fine, no adjustment needed for a long time so i guess it must be ok, you should see a marked improvement as far as power delivery goes from standard, mine now feels like it should of done when it left the factory. it doesn't seem to have affected the top speed too much but there again i'm not into riding at three figure speeds in this over policed nanny state
