Skorpion gas tank fitting

Postby samandkimberly » Wed Feb 18, 2009 7:04 am

My Skorpion tank is in a box ready to head off for a new coat of black paint. One thing I discovered while stripping it was that the corroded vent fitting is an M7 thread - a rather unusual size that can be hard to find anywhere but Germany. As mentioned previously, I work for a company that makes a lot of industrial fittings and we have a good M7 to 1/4" or 6mm OD tubing. Here's a link to a catalogue page:

http://catalog.festo.com/enu/asp/Defaul ... 3740&L=001

For those of you that aren't used to fittings like this, you just push the tube in, and it holds it up to ~10 bar/150PSI pressure. Good for gases (vapor hoses) less effective for liquids. They have to be bought in bags of ten, which is very expensive when you need only one, but I have one or two kicking around. Anyone looking for a replacement for their corroded vent fitting and line? If there's a lot of interest I'll put a little clear tubing/fitting vent "kit" together.

On an unrelated note - are MZ tank badges available anywhere?

Sam,

I was up at Bikeworx ( 978-897-0044) yesterday and looking through some of Galen's MZ part boxs and saw a bag of MZ badges, cluck levers, and swing arm protectors. You might want to give him a call.

BTW - looks like Galen is getting rid of a lot of his parts stock plus he has a some bobywork (Race plus a clean set of Replica) thats up for grabs. I was able to pry a complete Replica exhaust from him!
