Moral of the story: dont fiddle with things that work perfectly!
I was a motorcycle mech' in a former life & I lost count of how many times we would return a bike to standard spec to make it run properly.

yes yes
i just spent the last 3 days in the shed fixing the air box in my new toy a 1997 skorpion Traveller
some one had cut the air box in to 2 pieces and added some after market air cleaners
so the battery holder was still in the bike and i got lucky the fellow i got the bike from had the missing half
i will just post a picture to show the ugly details of putting it back in
only race bikes should have mods done I M H O if you want to go fast buy a bigger bike

had to split the bike in half what a pain to get it back stock
dave
i hate mods other than getting rid of fold up foot pegs and handle bars that are to high or low

split rear frame from front that how the air box
goes in if you have to replace it
removing rear wheel and hugger also required
will not go in via the wheel well
