Baggy. Lights on, nobody home.

Hi gents,
Being a long time Skorpion rider I am wanting to jump on a "good deal" on a Baggy. The owner says it was running great and all the sudden the engine won't turn over. He says the lights come on but the engine won't spin, no clicking noise, nothing. He says he's not much of a wrencher and dosn't want to mess with it. Was wondering if you guys could help me figure out what all to check if I go see the bike.
Items to test;
Hot battery
Side stand switch (tie wires together)
Jumper cables direct to starter
???

Only other thing I know is the owner bought it from his father in law who raced it. Has a differnt pipe, lower gears and other unknow mods. The owner says it was running well, shifing fine etc. Bike has sat all winter.
