Skorpion Race Large Bore Headers

I would like to get some dyno numbers right now since I'm really happy with the bike as it stands(no internal engine mods/stock carbs) but.....realistically, I probably won't make the drive down to the facility a few towns over until after I get the headers installed.

I just received the headers a few hours ago and they are bolted up and starting to change colors. I can't say much about performance increases other than a little gain on the top but I have yet to do internal mods to the engine. I also put a new ERT2 on changed the gearing from 15/40 to 15/43. Very nice! Next is engine work and sub frame/oil tank mount fabrication. Sweet!

Also received the headers from Projection Components last week. Fitted easily, they even provided (for free) an aluminium ring for a proper fit with my Remus exhaust.

First : It looks good! sound is reasonable compared to the former BSM future can I used.
Second: low and mid-range power is a bit down, top end power has increased, resulting in a constantly flashing shift light set to 7400 RPM. It likes to rev now (stage 2 camshaft, K&N, stock carbs, Ignitech Sparker)! Next step is a set of TM 34's. We'll see what gain they give.

Although it should be adjustable, I still have some issues hitting the pipe with the brake pedal. The pipe seems to protrude sideways quite a bit:

I think you need to tweak your pipe mounting set up a bit to get the pipe stand off from the bike another inch or two, rotating the mid pipe down and out. If you notice the spring tab alignment on the collector to mid pipe joint, your pipe is rotated quite a bit from the way it was designed. You may also need to check that the joints on the header side are completely seated. I drew a line on the male parts to show how far they needed to be tapped in before bottoming out, used some WD-40 to help things along, and everything seemed to go together well. The spacing between the headers and the bottom of the down tube/front engine mount should be equal. Mine fits like a glove with about 1/2" clearance on each side and ample room for the brake pedal.

Hell, you may just be able to rotate the mid pipe few degrees while it's fully mounted with nothing more than some lube and a strap wrench. Just be careful. Or do it right and take the can off first.

Thank's for your reply, I'll try to fit the headers and mid-pipe better according to your suggestions. I'll post some pictures with the results when done
