After a year and 4000mls with the 43t rear sprocket, I have gone back to the 41in the interests of longer legs. 4000rpm and 65mph is very satisfying. The 43 would clearly be better in the city, but I live out in the wilds and do little or no city riding. During that time I also cleared up my carburation bugs, and now it pulls cleanly from 2500 (with a whisker of throttle), and pulls like an ox from 4000 to redline. Full throttle feels smooth from about 3000, but Bill J's advice to rev it, is always in the back of my mind! Also changed to a non-oring chain so it can be lubed. (I hate oring chains, designed by the marketing dept.)
I've owned a lot of bikes, but I must say the Skorp is growing on me year after year and is a keeper.
2001 Skorpion Tour. Of about 50 bikes I have owned, this is the one I have kept the longest.
