"first of all I will spell KEIHIN correctly....."

I'll worry about that way after I worry about how to pronounce it... (Old rednecks anyway...)

Great information, I've wondered about the specifics... fit to frame with the various intakes and with the hope that clearance might be improved without cutting as I remember with installations of FCRs done years ago.

Have friends with KTMs and that they put the 41s (I believe) on and thought that loseing the CVs for 35s might be a good start for a stock MTR with only the pipe changed.

Catman,

You mentioned clearance for the carb with stock pipes, I remember something about clearance issues (too many years back in past posts) and dimpling the frame. I'd be interested in pictures of what you had to do.
Also, the mikuni carbs that you would have used, any clearance issues and considering that a Raptor manifold might be used also with those? comments on that. I've heard that Mikunis are more tuneable but that the Keihins are easier (I'd almost go for the Keihins being a rookie (old but rookie when it comes to carbs).
I have a very low mileage '01 and so far haven't done anything that I couldn't put back to stock...

edfmaniac,..... Thanks for the photo link to the exhaust headers, not cheap, (VAT included?) but VERY nice.......I have spent way too much time looking at the picture and wondering about fit on a Baghira....I love the fact that they are of a larger diameter.....if I had used a larger dia. set of head pipes, my ex. ports could also have been opened up just that much farther...just think of how much more that would have increased velocity on the intake side........although I still think that the stock headpipes, with their stock collection point should give me excellent exhaust velocity and scavenging, after cleaning up the weld slop just inside the mounting flange area... Especially w/the X4 cam and 11:1 compression waking things up internally.......I don't think that 65r.w. h.p. is too much to hope for???..... Sigh......time will tell. For now I will stick with my build as planned, but may order a set of larger headpipes for the future, which of course will mean a new muffler, and of course more money (sigh....... again...Yes I am a hoarder of bike parts, y/never know when youre gonna need ,em).....Also thinking of Barkers....I will have to call them..... I would , however prefer to have just one muffler/can . My Duke has two, and it looks and sounds cool, but it does make you wonder about weight savings...... Regards, Catman
