I get a pack when i get chance... been pretty tied up with cylinder head on my missus car... what i probably is tack a diode on the ignition connector as per that diagram..

been hunting in the shed for a diode, i could have sworn i would have been able to find one somehwere... i have to pull a few power supplied apart...

hey thanks for the info great help i let you know the outcome when i get it sorted.

any thoughts on where i can rob a diode....???

I think i see the reason for the diode.. It did cross my mind the other day... it seems as though the reason the two circuits are split is because of the parking light circuit....I.E. when you turn the key past the steering lock position, the front and rear parking lights come on....

I have joined up the dash light circuit to the front rear parking lights,( as i have not yet got a diode).... and the parking lights do not work ( in the "p" position), but the dash lights come on now instead...

Weird !!!!!

also when you switch to parking light position on the key, the light switch now works...too...!!!

so i thingk that diode is definitely necessary...

Diode 30 is a blocking diode.. stopping the power getting to the dash lights, and the light switch in the "park position" on the key switch !!!!

Does this make Sense ???

grrrr grrrrr

sorted it now.. quite a clever bit of wiring there though... respect for the germans...

got it now i had a blonde moment.. the diode in the loom by the keyswitch threw me.. simple mod really just put a diode between the grey wire at the parking light, and the grey wire at the dash lights all heat shrinked in.. nice and tidy... dunno where the original diode is i dont really care as its working now the way it should
