A few pics of the mounted muffler. Link pipe is next, but only after I mount the carbs and get the raw materials for my tig guy.

Carbs from a 2008 ex250 have been fitted. A far cheaper option than the race carbs. No, not as much performance, but also not $600 (Canadian dollar is now in the toilet!)



Pod filters have been flipped to allow a bit more clearance for the exhaust pipe.


Opposite side. Idle adjust cable can be seen. Custom throttle cable needs to be made as well.

I like your thumb brake mod. I might use that on my dirt bike instead of paying the crazy price they ask for aftermarket kits.

As for the return hose on your tank, isn't there enough loop in the stainless line to bend it a few degrees and get that 1/16" you need? Just a thought.

and get an extra mount clamp on that muffler .. yes its more weight
but plaster cast weighs a lot when a loose pipe makes you fall off

i am not a racer ..but being a daily driver makes me like safety wiring..
50,000 plus in one year lets you know it can ALL fall off the bike including

For the oil hose, I'd be worried about kinking it and slowing down flow... but I might be able to get it bent properly. As for the 2nd strap, good idea. I think I even know where I can affix it to. And finally, this is my 5 supermono project.... I know the benefits of safety-wiring, particulary big thumpers!!! I have a nearly new can of wire ready to go!

Starting to work on the wiring. Want to get it in a convenient location, so under the fuel tank seems to be a good spot. Can access everything by flipping up the mito tank.



The aluminum plate may one day be replaced by carbon... although perhaps not! ECU is new from Belgium, coil is mounted to the underside. It will be grounded to the steel frame tube, not "just" the aluminum plate.

Swingarm was powder-coated now, to test the waters with a new coater in town. Not bad, although a tad pricey. Just need to press in new needle bearings (on order) and it can go in the frame.



Once everything is up and running (perfectly, of course, with no issues, hiccups, or problems(!), I'll powdercoat the frame.

Waiting on some parts == rear wheel needs to be laced with a 4.25 rim in order to have chain clearance issues solved, as well as to be able to use decent 150 rubber. 160 dots are too wide.
EX250 carb experiment failed, so waiting on a set of 33s from Power Barn.
Some carbon fibre work has been done...
These are some pics of an airbox/carb guard. Realized that if I am running open bellmouths, I'd need something to prevent the engine from injesting any matter of debris thrown up from the rear wheel.


Form follows function (a bit), but with a coat of clear it should come up shiny!

Restored a carbon front fender that had some aesthetic damage. Lots of wet sanding and a coat of clear, and it looks pretty decent!
Lastly, a carbon number plate. Got some sheet off of ebay, and traced the cut with a dirt track plate...

Thanks for confirming my idea that a modified Skorpion could look good with spokes. Now I just wished that you had stuck with the stock suspension so that I could steal your research into which ones worked and how to make them fit. Can you weigh them for us, with the tires, so we can compare them to the chart of mag wheel weights that is here in the archives?
