I've recently fitted an NGK Iridium spark plug (DPR8EIX-9)

The Baggy starts a quicker and it "seems" to pull a bit better too

With the standard plug the bike used to struggle a little if it had been left for a week but with this new plug she fires a lot easier. .

Worth a go if your about ready for a new plug. .

:-D

Cheers, Ed.

660cc XTZ660 1996-98 DPR9EA-9 0.9 DPR9EIX-9

RS/FS/RLES/FAT/FAT
LE/RLET/RT 2001-05

So, who is the guru on iridium sparks to interperet for us mere mortals.... :?

I installed a set of 4 on my 04 FJR 1300. I did specific before and after "seat of the pants" evals onver the same route, same day, same conditions. I felt they improved the idle and response. I've also installed them on my 96 GPZ 1100. They're a bit pricey, but think they are worth the extra $$.

Also there's the Denso Plug:

Make YAMAHA
Model XTZ660 1996 - 98
Engine 660cc
Year
Sparkplug X27EPR-U9
Iridium IX27B
Gap 0.9

they say their alloy of irridium/rhodium is harder (higher melting point) than pure irridium? Dunno! Used Splitfire - good, NGK - excellent, I might give these guys a go at my next major service.
