No idea how many were produced or sold in Aus or the UK come to that-they do seem to be pretty rare though.

I have only ever seen 3 other Sports myself on the road, aprt from those I have.

Am breaking one Sport, but have had the 78,000 mile engine rebuilt and tuned. The builder said that everything was still within tolerance (bore, valve, camchain, big ends, gearbox, etc) so depite those saying that singlres wear out quickly, I tend to disagree.

no of skorpions

''your lucky to have a shed full of spares whysubo1, theres not a great deal about, i have been told there was only around 2000 or so skorpions produced in total. i was after a mastiff but seem to be very rare here now. iv'e seen more sports on the road here than others, and thats only three or four, and have never seen baghira or mastiff outside of showroom. yes the xtz660 engine is a strong and reliable unit, all i've ever done is change oil and filters, and check tappets a few times in the 52000 km 's it's travelled. merry christmas and happy motorcycling.ciao GAZZA.

G'day Gazza

I purchased a Skorpion Sport here in Perth a couple of months ago, 2nd-hand with less than 7,000 km on the clock. It was a 1999 model sold here in 2002.

Jim Duffield here in Perth also has a Tour.

I'd heard there were only about a dozen Skorpions brought into Australia.

Don't care - it's a beeeyooootiful bike and I keep turning up at work with this silly grin on my face (OK, so I was last on a bike 7 years ago and the bike I commuted on for over 12 years was a CB250RS thumper which my daughter said looked "much more reassuring" when she refused to ride pillion on the Sport).

ride pillion
