I forgot where I saw it on here but someone was complaining of their Baghira feeling uncomfortable at speed. I picked up a used GPS the other day and I was out playing with it on my Mastiff and with Michelin Hi-Sports my bike was dead stable at a GPS rated 102 mph on a slightly rough road. The speedo said I was doing 160KPH an hour which woks out to 99 mph so the speedo is pretty accurate. With the gearing on it and my size I think that is all it has in it. I was able to hit redline but not the red-limiter if I tucked in and took my left hand on the tank.

That would have been me..... Since then I have installed Pirelli Diablos.....I'm on rails now bro !!!!
I can hit sweepers at high speeds w/o puckering.....I pulled MT 60's off.... I have the tall version Baggy...... The only thing I can say bad about the MT60's in my particular situation was stability.... other than that I love those tires, very predictable..... I am keeping mine as a spare for sure.....

Went riding today and was playing and hit a new top speed for me. I eeked out one mor e1mph for a GPS indicated 103 mph. The fun part was though finsing a dirt rode and using my semi-bald Michelin Pilot's and hitting 85mph. I need the damn front tire to come off of backorder.

on the speedo I've seen over 180 klicks But that's in my superbikers tuck. If I put my chest out it get's wobbly.
I got those diablos too.. lowered version and m4 pipe with jetts and 2 more teeth..

two up on the rear....Stock chain length right ? your engine must be revin at 180 Kmh's with the lower gearing....? I've had mine just over 160 on a back road chasing Phlat...the engine was reving... might get a tach just to use as a reference point...

Re a tach, Husky fit a tah and use the same speedo assembly as my MZ street moto. It should be able to be adapted fror the MZ.

Jez $240 for a chain and sprocket kit. I that the normal price you guys pay? Over here in the UK we can ket a gold x-ring xhain, front sproket and rear £89.99.
Went to my local MZ daler last week and he is giving up selling MZ's due to poor dealer back up. SOmeones in for a bargin though. He is selling the Black Panther and red mastiff he has in stock for £3750, including all taxes and warentee. (Ray Detith motorcycles if any UK members are in the market for one.)

ps What a delight this is, normally its the UK prices that are higher than yours in the USA

Gotta say this, whats the pre-occupation with top speed. Over here in the UK the attraction of SM's is being able to have fun without putting your driving licence at risk.
I have the most fun on mine while tackling narrow counrty lanes (a lot of our norrow lanes over here are single track. ie not enough room for two comact cars to pass), often at speeds below 60mph.
