MZ/MuZ Riders

i was on my way up to camp @ JALAMA BEACH last weekend...cruising up the 101 - minding my own business (splitting lanes) when all of a sudden - BANG!POW!!POP!!! the bike a dies...and now she wont start.

i glide off to the center divider and notice smoke fuming out from under the seat!!

HOLY SHIT!!! says i...and quickly remove the seat before my beautiful black princess burns up (with ALL MY CAMPING GEAR STILL ATTACHED!!)

lo and behold - i see the culprit...and its not what i thought...its THE AIR FILTER...and its burned in two or three places.

WEIRD. says i.

no more fire. no more smoke. she starts right up...idling a teeny bit low.

i pressed on to santa barbara and found (ACCIDENTALLY) a yamaha dealer - who had a bunch of filters - but not the RIGHT one...so i oiled and stretched a 'close' one over the carb - put the seat back - and camped @ the beach a short while later...

i finished my trip (about 800 more miles up the coast to monterey and back down) with that mickey mouse rig - NO PROBLEMS...and no more backfire. (thats another mystery)

i love that bike...and she loves me...ill post pics when i get home...and the funniest thing is - EVERYWHERE I GO - people always ask about the bike...tee hee. they dont know what theyre missing!!

wow... the funny thing is: as I am reading this, my wife is reading Dr Seuss to my son in the background.. it reads pretty well! I bet you all will re-read this with the Seuss cadance in your head.....

Okay, some fire came through the head into the airbox.....shit happens

ya - no biggee.

almost burned my new bike to a smoldering crisp.

and to think - i was worried.

now you know why there is a small fire extinguisher mounted
on the back of my BMW with the leaky bing carbs

is that what i have too...a leaky bing carb?

oh - and my clutch cable just snapped the other day (only 6500 miles)...weird huh??

Aiee, drj! Sounds like you have a demonic bike! Let me know if you want me to take the possessed bike off your hands- I won't even charge you

demonic bikes are what i LIVE for...but thanks for the offer anyhow...

and if you dont already own a baggy - i HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU PICK ONE OF THESE UP ASAP!!
