Bent Bars; Stupid Question

OK, so I dumped the Baggy a couple weeks ago after hitting some oil on the grounds of my storage unit complex (irrelevant, really); Anyway, the stock bars bent slightly, so I put some Pro Taper SE CR Hi bars on (love 'em), but the bars don't quite line up square when the front tire is uniformly straight. The bars are off to the right about 3/4 inch.

If I put the bars full-lock left and whack them pretty hard, the bars shift to the left and are even-steven again. They don't shift out of position just by my throwing them around and stopping suddenly, but clearly something needs tightening and I've lost confidence in whatever that connecting point is.

I'm a total mechanical noob. Somebody please tell me what it is that's come loose?

Did you check your triple clamps

Hey Spew,

you may need to readjust your triple clamps or the rubber mounted handle bar perches might have to be removed and reseated you could have even bent one. I know I did all of the above

Thanks M4-
I didn't want to start randomly tightening everything in sight--I know most things should be lock-down tight on a bike, but a few things shouldn't be, and I didn't want to over-tighten something unnecessarily. I'll get the owner's manual out and check the torque specs for the triple clamps and start there. Part of me thinks I should have my mechanic do a 'once over' on it just to be sure I'm not missing something, but it wasn't that hard of a put-down. Better safe than sorry though...
