MZ/MuZ Riders

hi everyone,first thanks to keithcross for advice regarding my bike and secondly hope to take delivery of new machine early next week and after coming from a zzr1100 i'm sure there is a few do's and dont's i should may be aware of with the baghira.have a few ideas of mods i will do,at a later date, which seem the norm with these bikes,so any tips or advice would be very welcome,thanks in advance,rodge.

new bike arrived yesterday,well pleased with it and when i get the spare seat modified will be even more pleased,bit hard for my liking,probably my age!!,.i was wondering if anyone can shed some light as to what normal operating temp of these bikes as i am fitting a trailtech vapor and rather than panicing over what i may feel as excesive temp,which in fact is norma,if that makes sense.

Congrats on the purchase mate. Hope you dont find the drop in power too frustrating ...... just get it on the right roads and there aint a lot that will stay with it .....even at non licence losing speeds !!

Operating temp, dont know. I will say that my fan has never switched on (i tested it still worked !) but it does seem to send a lot of heat wafting up the inside of my thighs during summer traffic queus.

Personally I felt front forks and brake were priority for the biggest performance gain as they are a bit sheeeite as standard (forks are actually OK just needed a bit of professional re-work / set up). Loads of stuff you can do to the motor depending on how deep your pockets are.

You will no doubt come accross Bill J's (clearly a skilled and knowledgeable engineer) and Wonkmeisters (look up Slipstream Tuning) posts with regard to engine mods ....different approach's for the first stage of tuning but you pays your money you take your choice.

thanks garf,after running around for about an hour had a reading relativly quickly,no thermostat to open i guess,then it sort of sat around 65-73c for the rest of the time i was out and all seemed fine when i got home.rev counter seemed a bit haywire on the bar graph display,kept showing an over rev,which as i'm only pottering around running in,may be a trailtech phone call job tomorrow.the exhaust will be the next thing and have checked with dealer regards to warranty and he pointed me to dave silvers for a system and i'm going to run standard set up for a while
yes bit of a culture shock from last bike but certain i've made a good choice,the other half was a bit worried i would be off trail riding all the time instead of mower racing!! as i bought the enduro but have had the sm wheels fitted,which i think makes all the difference to the look,apart from the exhaust!!!.cheers

seen that and one of the guys in the club dabbles in them and also a mono wheel,a 6 foot steel ring with engine and seat in the middle

hi,well ,enjoying the new bike very much,was not dead sure i made the right choice at first,but after a few days love it.
i have fitted a new bsm exhaust as the dealer advised this regarding warranty and instead of a home made one,has any one else fitted this system and is it normal for the two ends of the link pipe to not be spot on fit to header pipes,ie not what i would call parellel as in the standard pipe,just meant a bit of pushing and shuving to get on,apart from that sounds and looks the biz.also fitted a trailtech vapor which went very smoothly and i think it came out all right with out to much disturbance of original wiring,will post pics when there is a teenager in the house!!

well i've had the bike for nearly 3 weeks and this last week has been good weather wise and now i can see the appeal of these things!! cornering is a doddle it just goes where you point it with very little effort and at a fare old pace,in a very confidence inspiring way,did a round trip of about 100 miles with modded seat the other day and that went well,quite comfy.due for 1st service by next weekend so then no more of this 4000rpm stuff .think if funds allow may look around for another one for green laning,knew i should have kept those wheels

if its as much fun as my rt125 and saxon tour we will not be able to see what your riding because of your big grin
