Cutting up standard bahira mastiff exhaust.
I have bought a spare with a view to cutting it open & removing a certain quantity of restriction!
Has any one else tried this?
Are the BSM & M4 cans straight through with perforated pipe & wadding to the outer shell similar to the old viper can I had on my ZX6?
Feedback please, regards to all.

i contemplated something along these lines but more using the 2 into 1 section then having a link pipe made with the branch at one end then giving you a wide choice of after market cans to fit on the end. you can nearly get a 2" dia at the branch end and a simple 2" section bent to shape ending near the rear of bike for silencer,in the end i was advised to go with bsm pipe as new bike and warranty issues etc.

Yes I originally intended the same. Im not worried about warranty & want to do it this way to save money.
I have so many bikes & cars I can't throw money at them all!

I was going to go this route and use a stainless suppertrap, or a cheap can from some other bike exhaust on craigslist, but I am contemplating selling the bike and am going to leave it stock.

go for it nothing to lose. personally, i think the standard exhaust looks reallly ugly and built for a sherman tank but thats just my opinion.

I cut up my BSM link pipe and stuck a 2" diameter Supertrapp on the end. I love it!
There's a pic of my bike in this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2317&p=15423#p15423I just want to finish it off by wrapping the headers and link pipe in heat wrap.

Hehe! Not blown up any helicopters yet, just my ear drums!
The great thing about the Supertrapp is it's technically road legal in the UK (no 'race only' markings), and you can adjust the back pressure (and therefore noise) by adding or taking away silencer discs. Plus it looks great!
