is there a oil pressure warning bulb on dash panel.

if there is it should come on when key is turned on
and go off when bike starts
if not bad bulb or disconnected from pressure switch
dave

not into bulbs but there are some out there
but do not get to high wattage if in area that requires head lamp
all of the time
the problem is the too small battery's and no space in the battery box for a bigger one

my solution to the too small battery on bikes... is let the engineers
decide what size it should be .... then the head man tell them to make the battery
box big enough to fit a gel type that is twice that AH rating :smt040

Not sure if this helps... got a brighter bulb from my local Halfords, (for my Baggi) same wattage but brighter output - and its spot on. They had a huge selection both in the car and bike section.

The battery is just for cranking the eng! You rotor/stator is what should power everything after its running! Also recharge the battery after. Silverstar bulbs use the same amps but put out more watts of light, or more usable light anyway. better bulbs do the trick.
