MZ/MuZ Riders

Hello MZriders (first post here). It is time to make a serious attempt at making a cross-reference list of replacement parts for our bikes! Here is a start: While putting together a semi-basket case Skorpion sport model this past summer, a replacement (adjustable) brake lever for a Honda trx 400 quad was matched up from the rack at a local Cycle Gear store... Direct fit. Let's find all the parts that fit, and share that knowledge here, it is a shock to see that a bike with such a cult following, and many devotesd sites, has no such list. Lets do it now, share your hard won cross-reference research results and maybe MZ/MuzRiders will devote a heading for these lists... For all the MZ bikes.

A great idea, however I suspect somebody might have got there before you over in the Mechanic/Tech Talk section - a couple of years ago.

Why not consider adding your new finds to that one?

Hey linegeist, I don't want to sound like a wiseguy, but... Yeah, right! Try finding these parts in the U.S., and wait 'til you start breaking parts on your latest bike there. When you search for related info on this site, it seems you get alot of replies to any given subject, and they lead off in any and all directions. One poor rider was asking for ideas on a replacement tail light lens for a Skorpion Sport model, and he gets several replies with information related to all models but the Sport, and alot of opinions in favor of switching to aftermarket units... That might be the best idea in that case, but lets build an actual list of what-fits-what for each model, stock, cross-referenced, improved replacements, and aftermarket... With part numbers and sources, no unrelated stories of mechanical genius or heroic riding, start a new post if you want to tell a story. This has got to be the best site going for MZ owners, lets make it more useful.

Just a thought...
Might be helpful at first to start with individual threads related to only the specific part (general item) that is to be considered for replacement pieces for repair or total replacement of the part.
Thread examples might be something along these lines

Next post might be, Replacement springs...

Maybe use the parts book/manual as a guide.
