some pictures of my new xtx660 top mudguard painted in body colour, and the lower rear section.

Still not to sure about the lower part ??
Can you give me some views on the lower part ?

i.e. colour is original trx850 black would you go for a different colour, different shape, or different mudguard or scrap the idea ?

I wondering whether a matt finish would be better i.e not sticking out so much, also not finalised the position of the lower, has to be a bit closer to the wheel...

The headlight fairing is also in the process of being lowered to a lower position on the forks... Major nightmare on this tonight.. as speedo is being ditched for something else..........

MAJOR HEADACHE.....

New homemade dash with 12v l.e.d's usb charging switch cycle speedo mount plus illumination for the cycle speedo... and provision for trail tech vapor...

indicators from same place, made my own u shape bracket for dashboard out of a strip of aluminium

Modified That again it now fits closer to the handlebars and slightly lower.

I have got rid of the Speedo and dashboard completely, and now using a cycle speedo. My led dash assembly is nearly complete, just need to source the connector for connecting to the original loom, as i dont want to sacrifice the original loom...

Also got a switch built in to turn on/off my USb power adaptor for my Sat Nav....built in to dash....

Will post pics of the new setup Mk 5 when complete... it is real neat now !!!!

No probs,

dash finished tonight, sourced the conectors needed for attaching to the loom,, RS components trade counter. Tried maplins, no joy but got there eventually... All works o.k need to reattach my old indicators and mount the dash and we are sorted....

You may find you have high speed stability problems with the high mudguard.

good point jack,though i have recently put the standard mudguard back on mine,had one very simaler to what you have now,as the bike felt very twitchy at high speed,think i read somewhere that o/e guard helps with the handling possibly and must admit the bike feels a lot more steady at higher speeds.

as for the dash, it is nothing special, i will take a couple of pics. when i get chance. Basically it is the idiot lights, mounted into a really cheap pound shop cycle light.

I used 12v led's from maplin to relace the bulbs. it works great, took me a while to get the pcb made up (vero board) actually but it works fine got the main beam, neutral light, l/r indicator light and the temp warning light. (not to sure how to prove this works), as mine has never come on. Anyone know how to switch this light on ? by shorting something ?

Not noticed any stability probs yet, saying that, its not been above 60mph yet....as road conditions are crap here....

can't really see the dash, as it is hidden behind the headlight cowl thats the way i wanted it nice and simple....

need some lighting for cycle speed tho'

I do use my g.p.s. for speedo in Night (clearer)

Stabilty problems usually occur above 80mph as a slow weave.
Having been to italy & back my 21" 18" Baghira was fine
My friends 17" 17" Mastiff was dreadful, which was later much improved by fitting a small aftermarket mudguard.
I now have a 17" front in mine with small close fitting guard, I also need to extend the rear dogbones to drop the rear so the steering is slower.
