Skorpion Sport Radiator Fans

Hi all

I am fairly certain that both of the radiator fans on my 99 Skorpion Sport have totally disintegrated.
This is bad as i live in Australia and summer is nearly upon us.
It is also bad in Australia because spares are so f*#$ing hard to find down here.
I am hoping this is a standard yamaha part or something that i will be able to find easily.
Can anyone help? Part no.? Any hints would be appreciated!

Sam

they aren't Yamaha parts and they are a problem and one of the few "original MZ parts."
The radiator of the Skorpion is so big, you normally don't need a fan at all. At best my fan (which works!) runs at a traffic light in the heat of summer. Otherwise never. You only need one fan. The track bikes have no fan at all and usually also have to mask off the radiator, depending on the weather to ge the engine warm enuf.
Whatever; as long as one can get parts from Tschopau, I would order at least two new ones and mount only one, keeping the other as a spare part.
A lot of people have tried various industrial DC motors. Some work, as well. I can't say as I have always gone the simple way and replaced them with the OEM part. But of course you can dismantle one of yours; you can simply pull the fan itself off the shaft and the motor is screwed into the housing from the back. With the bare motor at hand, you can do some on-line searching for a similar DC motor. I have heard, too that some have mounted a PC CPU fan though I can' imagine that being up to the job.

I have one new original fan here right now I don't at the moment need.

Thanks again for your help Bill.
I really do need at least one, as summer down here can get to 45 degrees celsius.

A COMPUTER FAN CAN WORK IN A PINCH AND ARE QUITE GOOD
I HAVE A COMPUTER HERE THAT RUNS A HAM RADIO PACKET LINK
IT HAS BEEN RUNNING 24/7 SINCE THE MIDDLE OF 1991
AND HAS THE ORI MFM HARD DRIVE AND POWER SUPPLY
ON A 8088 MOTHERBOARD

NEED I SAY I AM AFRAID TO TURN IT OFF FOR FEAR IT WILL NOT LOAD AND BOOT AGAIN
JUST MAKE SURE ITS MOUNTED GOOD AND BLOWS AIR IN THE PROPER DIRECTION
AND SAYS 12V DC ON IT SOME WHERE
DAVE

SUPPLY IS GOOD JUST ASK A LOCAL COMPUTER GEEK IF HE HAS A DEAD ATX POWER SUPPLY IN HIS JUNK BOX

That is not what I meant,
...I can't imagine that being up to the job.

I know that they are very dependable.
But I doubt they can take either the weather conditions or the vibrations and most also do not have a large enuf output.

All of my mainframes, The computer I use at the desk which also serves as the server for the house, have run and run now 24/7 and not one fan has died.
Way back when, the fans ran a lot and lots of them with the UPS, too, including the one exhausting the server cabinet(220v.)
ancient history, tho since I now run a dual core iMac right on the desk.

THe UPS gone, I keep Printer paper and blank CDs/DVDs in the server cabinet now and the fan of iMac almost never runs. Took awhile to get used to the unearthly still in the office.

here is an example of an industrial motor that might be OK for the radiator fan.
