brown is the earth return,2 wires for each indicator are the feeds and i think the feed for the warning light as well,if blowing fuses, check new lights are not earthed through there bodies if so swap wires over.only browsed over wire dia but seems straight forward job.
might be worth check new ones for continuity with out bulbs in them,ie no reading, good luck

Rodge, many thanks a little unsure of wiring but if I read this correct the brown is only the earth so I use the other 2 wires to feed the new indicator ???? so if this sounds a little thick just want to get it right ... oh and thanks for you qucik feedback. Andy

Rodge, I can now get the indicators working No problem from only 1 feed wire from the new ones but the Idiot lights on speedo do not work ... I did notice before I fixed the new unit to the bike I could use the brown and one of the others and everything worked fine ..... do I need to either put the brown from the bike direct to the new unit or stop the new unit earthing direct to the bike with a platic or rubber washer !!!!!!
Hope you can help
Andy

You don't know how true that is! I've been blowing blinker fuses and am running without them at the moment. I'm actually thinking about converting the bike to a TrailTech Vapor unit, putting on a more modern looking Acerbis headlight, and going with more low-profile blinkers like the Buells--figure I'll sort out the electrics while I'm in there doing all this work.
How ya doin? I haven't been riding much, but I converted the bike to a dual sport and am taking Doc Wong's off-road class at Hollister this Sunday--you should come out and join us--it's a class specific to large-bore dual sports. There will be quite a few GS's out there, some KLR's, an old Triumph Tiger, etc. I've got the rattle-can plastics on, as I'm sure I'll dump it a few times. Bring your Baggy man! (you to, MSW, if you're lurking in this thread...)

I have mine working fine now ... the secret was to connect the 2 stripped wires from the bike together and use to one of the new indicators and then use the brown from the bike to connect to the other from the indicators and Hey Presto !!!!! all works fine even the idiot lits on the clock work with a problems ... No more fuse blowing.
