MZ/MuZ Riders

Her in Upstate New York the leaves are falling and soon the bike will com inside for the winter. Im considering putting it in the living room. Anyone have advise on how not to blow up my house? Thanks

turn off the gas ??? I keep my bikes right in front of my furnace in my garage.... I do turn the gas off for both......maybe plug the vent hose so no vapours come out ????
Yup gonna be winter here soon too...........what that means for us is that I have to zip in my lining on my perforated leather jacket... he he he ..........

I live in San Francisco, it's winter here year round.

OK well I do hate riding in the rain, and rainy season has started. (I know how to ride wet I just hate wearing all the raingear and wiping my face shield off every 30 seconds.)

When it's cold I use a Widder electric vest. My friends made fun of it... until they tried it. Now they own vests too.

PS - I think the Black Panther will make riding wet roads fun. Wonder how the Metzelers are in the cold and wet?

put it inside put a battery tender on it
and watch the weather and ride it once in a while
at least every 2 weeks at least 5 or ten miles if the streets are clear
do use a face sheild and no exposed skin

letting one set can get expensive
the last time i left one set all winter the bing carbs cost me $200
in parts to rebuild and never did work realy right after that

i even push the lawn mower out and start it about every 2 weeks
and let it run for a few min....

ps it usually gets bad here about thanksgiving but with some good days
to mid january then feb and march are work on the bikes and hang close
to the fire

My gut instinct is to drain the fuel tank and let it air out for awhile with the cap off. hit it with compressed air until no vapor is left. Drain the carbs and fuel lines out since someone may twist the throttle on me. are their drain plugs on the bowls? I'll pull the battery and put it on a tender. Sound sensible? Im going to take the emisions off it this winter.

yes there are drain screws on the bowls, but just run it dry. I dont know if I would drain the tank completely, I dont think you will have a problem if you leave fuel in it, but do add some fuel stabilizer. maybe better to put the bike on a stand so the wheels are off the ground though.

mmmmmm Winterising the bike. What a novel idea. Me I just leave it in the (unheated) garage and use it when I can. Mind you the real cold weather dosnt last to long in the south of the UK.

make a drawing of how it is all hooked up
and put it in a box and store it all
if you sell the bike give it to the next guy
you may need it some day to pass the yearly state inspection

i think in the uk they call it MOT

my friend that inspects bikes has been warning guys to save
the take off's as the boys in the state capital are telling him
that in 3 to 5 years it will have to have it to pass
and if its coming here in west virginia that soon
it will in other places
