Removing/replacement of fork top nut-Sealant needed?

Hi,
I need to remove the fork top nuts on my Skorpion Traveller so that I can take off and loosen up the Tarozzi handlebar bits to make adjustment possible.
Do I have to use any sealant when I replace the top nuts? If so what type? I know Bill Jurgenson has a link to a list of Loctite sealants on the mzriders forum. It's not easy to pick out something for general purpose use. I would also like to use said sealant for sealing the thread around a fan switch sensor I will need to replace later on.
There is also an 'O' ring under the nut (according to the parts fich on Grahams website), does anyone know what size it is?
Any ideas?

One of us has got an odd bike David ..... my Tarozzi's slip off over the fork caps with no problem.

The caps themselves don't require any sealant - the 'O' ring does the sealing required. I donlt know the size - I just have a box full of the things.........

The fan switch sensors also have a sealing ring where they nip up to the radiator header tank - however, to make certain of a leak free fitting, I tend to use a couple of turns of the white PTFE tape used by plumbers and gas fitters to seal pipes. It seals perfectly and doesn't harden.

It's just me being over cautious.
I'll try to GENTLY open up the gap and ease the clamps over the top nuts.
If they come off OK without any damage or stress it's saved me some work.

Try trickling a little machine oil into the fork/tarozzi interface and leaving it overnight David. (I also used a small alloy wedge to slightly 'spread'; the clamps on mine as they obviously hadn't been moved for about 300 years - but try to avoid this move, especially with steel wedges ) They should then twist off quite easily if you remove the screws completely (obviates any residiual clamping effort).

Of course, if you fancy a weekend on Anglesey, I'll do it for you!
