a few months ago my shift pedal busted off (the result of a spill that had unknowingly cracked it)...luckily it broke off in neutral.
due to the economic situation of late - i just found a guy who manufactures aerospace parts and has decided to CNC me a new shift pedal...(no splines - not too tricky)
so - i wanted to put the word out before i order 2 for myself - if anyone is interested in a replacement billet shifter.
im not sure of the price yet - obviously it may get cheaper as the quantity goes up...
im sending him my old shifter (that i had welded back together) next week & i will be happy to post pics of the new one once its done.

Got me a bent shifter, so I might need one of them, so long as the price doesn't break the bank. Let us know when you get a ballpark on them.
And thanks for taking the initiative on it!

thats what i had - a slightly bent shifter from a spill (hit some oil in an intersection while making a left turn @ 30mph)
it seemed fine until one day - it just busted clean off. i guess because its 'cast aluminum' the hit cracked it - then it was only a matter of time.
the guy seems really nice - i dont think he's gonna be unreasonable on the price.
i will keep you posted!!

ps - i believe the NEW shifter will made out of billet aluminum - so it will be considerably stronger than the OEM part.

so i finally heard back on the cost...
if we can get an order for 10 it'll be $150 each.
anything less than 10 and it starts getting pretty expensive.
lemme know who's interested.

if someone could find a new OEM shifter for sale id buy 2!!
id be much happier with a cheaper option, i just havent found one.
its particularly frustrating to be crippled by one small part.

anyone...
bueller...
bueller...
bueller.
1 front rotor (drilled / slotted) is $350...
1 back tire is $120...
a new seat is $400..
and those are all easy to get!!
i dont think $150 is that much money for such an exotic 'hard to get' part.
id hate to pay what it will cost if i only order 1 - but, i think of it as rainy day insurance.
