hope you guys can help me.

my Bagghi does not generate a spark anymore.
have new spark plug installed.
both coil connectors have power
coil resistance + to - is about .5 ohms
coil resistance + to end of spark plug cable is ~16 Kohm

checked several cables and connectors already, still no success.
battery might be dead but using car battery with running engine so motor turns over nice but there is no spark (sometimes very little spark).

does someone know (and is willing to share) how to meassure and analyze the various parts involved?

thanks
elmar

I was getting a very weak spark, so i decided to change the lot... I got in touch with Grahams motorcycles, who I have used before and been happy with.... but I couldn't believe they wanted £110 for a coil!!! so.. did a search for xtz660 coil on ebay... loads of em! got 1 for 21 quid + P+P.. Now I got a nice big fat blue spark.

hurray she runs again ... and after ajustung valves, get her new spark plug, oil and filter change and the twin air filter she runs much better.

I read in a yamaha xt 600 forum that their typical issue is a bad ground at the coil. I cleaned all contacts before but didn't pay attention to the rubber mounts of the coil (thought its just rubber). The metal inlets were corroded. after cleaning the ground contacts she fired up nicely.
