Hi,
I've just been looking at the Gilles variobar and was wondering if this is able to be fitted to the Skorpion? What adjustment is possible with the Gilles setup?
Dave Thompson is at the moment fitting an old 2 stroke MZ Saxon handlebar to his Skorpion because it will make the riding position more upright.
This upright position is what I'm used to as I mostly ride my RT125. I find the Skorpions too uncomfortable at the moment as it throws a lot of weight onto my wrists and my arms are a little too straight. My control of the bike is affected by this and this makes me feel nervous. I mostly ride in heavy London traffic which is hair raising (if I had any) at the best of times.
I want to settle on a solution with the best range of adjustment and I don't mind spending the money if needed. Radically changing the bar position means lengthening the cables, hoses and wiring, something I would only want to do once.
Any thoughts?

David.

here are pictures of my change
need to make a bar to insert in the gap left by the wider spacing
due to only way to get bars into risers
and need to ream out end of bars so the end weights can be refitted
no cables or hoses needed to be longer just rerouted a bit
and new guide holes for the electrical controls
the bars were stock bars from my 4 stroke saxon tour 1995
best way to see pictures is download them
and this is still a work in progress
