660 engine output and gear seal replacement

Hi all,

I'm getting a bit of oil weeping either from the output shaft seal or the gear selector seal. Can some one please give me a quick leason on how to replace these. I just picked up both seals from Bike Bandit.com (for the 1995 xt600 engine) for about $13. I understand that they can be replaced without draining the oil!

Thanks in advance. :D

well the proper way would be to,
remove the lever,
then unbolt the side cover
then pull the seal out of the cover.

the bodgers way (the way i would/have done/do it)
is unbolt the lever,
get a self tapping wood screw, and partially screw it into the seal (force is required to bite into the steel inside the seal)
then pull the screw with pliers, you'll probably have to put a screw on both side of the seal so it doesnt get jammed when pulling seal out

you'll probably have to lean the bike to the side to stop the oil coming out.
