Hi all
After three years without my Baghira - I bought one new in 2006 and sold it to pay for daughter's education, I really miss that 660 engine. I have been looking at a Skorpion Sport and wondered - does the odometer and trip meter record in Kms like the Baghira one did or is it in miles, like the speed reading? The Baghira of course read the speed in miles per hour but the odometer clocked up in Kms. I am sure this has been answered more than once on the forum but I can't find it, do forgive me if it is repetition.

My Skorpion Sport has Km in both odometer and speed.

OK, thank you but I did ask in the question: Does the Skorpion have odometer in kms while the speedo is reading in miles.

So, the bike I am looking at has the speedo marked in miles per hour.

I need to know, that if it is like the Baghira i.e. the speed reading is primarily in miles per hour but the odometer goes up in kms.

One way to find out for sure would be to plan a route on the AA route planner website

http://www.theaa.com/route-planner/index.jsp

of say 10Km (approx 6 miles) zero the odometer and then ride the route. Or you could borrow a GPS off someone and tape it to the bike.
Just a thought.

We have a 1995 Silver Star, a 1995 Skorpion Sport and a 1995 Skorpion Tour. These three machines display speed in mph and distance in kph.

My 1995 Skorp Sport has a speedo in MPH, and odo/trip meters in Km. Pass a few mile markers on the expressway and you'll know right away.
Impress your friends with all those "miles" you've logged on it! Gas mileage calculations take an extra moment to figure out, but it's worth it!

I understood only the all white Skorpion Travellers in the UK had the odo in miles.

My 1998 Traveller, which was one of the white ex-CSM bikes, has an odometer that reads in miles. However, some of the white ex-CSM bikes looked like they had been built from available parts (mine says 1999 on the fairing, and I have a 'spare' white Traveller that looks like it used to be a Tour). So some might have had km odometers and some miles ones.

Hi Norman.

I think you will find that your Traveller was registered at the back end of 1998, and is a 1999 model year bike this was explained to me by BSA Regal.
But it always seemed strange to me that all MPH clocks didn't have the odometer in miles,

Thanks for the info. I'd always suspected that mine had been crashed at some point and a later fairing fitted!
