Engine missing when stretching legs

Had a very unusual problem the other day. On a long ride my skorpion sport was going very well but I was getting a bit cramped so I stretched each leg out in turn. When I straightened my left leg after a couple of seconds the engine started to misfire and the bike slowed. This did not happen with the right leg???

I thought maybe the straightened leg was directing the intake air differently or something but couldn't account for the unsysmetrical nature of the problem.

After an hour of thinking and experimenting at different speeds I relaised what the problem was: Do to a problem I had earlier with the ocassional fuel leaking from the carbureter overflow and drain pipes I had moved them all to end by the left footrest. When I moved my leg the pipe ends were exposed to the wind and the resultant pressure reduction or increase must have affected the fuel level in the carbureter. I stopped and relocated the pipe ends behind the engine and the problem went away.

So take care where the overflow pipes terminate if you want to maintain clean carburation.
