Hi All
Going to remove the carbs on my Baghira to check they are set up correctly etc. Talking with my mate he said he was sure he'd read they were a nightmare to get off? I can't think why that would be? is it true they are hard to get off or quite straightforward?
Many thanks

It was indeed a pig of a job and I've broke it! Fitted a new exhaust and decided to remove the carbs to check they were set up correctly. Somewhere along the line I've broke something as it wont start anymore. Sigh.

Don't know what you've done Dave, but you've done it.
I never found the carbs difficult to get off, just took my time and took loads of photos. That advice is too late for you now though. I have had some difficulty whan putting my FCR flatslides on (which gets another 5 bhp) but as my rolling chassis has dissapeared, looks like I'll be selling all the parts I have, including the tuned engine and spare one i have.
Fell gutted that I left it so long, but various problems I have had in the last couple of years mean my Baggi got pushed to the back of my mind. Will have to chase up the place aghain and see if they have it still.
And anyone heard from Wonky-lost his number when she waltzed of with my PC.

I got it working again. Some wierd earth thing? Put the l;ghts on and it runs? You can turn them off when its running but it wont start with them on, spins over but no spark unless the lights are on.
Col i took the carbs off the inlet stubs and I think it would have been easier to remove the stubs themselves. I'm good at finding solutions after I've done teh job the hard way!!
On the plus side I had remeved them to check they were set up correctly. From what I've found on teh internet and thsi site the secondry carb should open whne the primary slide is at 6mm. Mine wasn't opening until the primary was on 12mm? So if I my information about the 6mm was right (?) i should have just grabbed a few extra ponies!

Tried to take the carbs off again last night to clean out the float bowl and raise the needle on the primary carb. I gave up though. They really are a pig of a thing to get out. I tried moving the sub frame back but couldn't find my Allen keys to remove the exhaust first, so I only got about 10mm pull which just doesn't give enough clearance. No having Allen keys I couldn't try undoing the inlet stubs from the head and sliding the carbs and stubs out attached. Is that the best way to do this?
