Traveling with the Skorpion

Postby Jurrien » Sat Jul 23, 2011 1:13 pm

2 friends and I just made a trip trough middle Europe. We had a great journey from Holland (where we live) - Germany - Poland (visited the Auschwitz concentration camp and the city of Kraków) - Slovakia - Czech republik - Germany - Home

It was fun to travel trough East Germany with the MZ. Saw a MZ1000S passing on the Highway, they're not many of them, right? Talked to a man who turned out to be an ex testdriver for MZ. He was very suprised to see a Skorpion - even more suprised that it had a dutch license plate.
We were nearby the city of Zschopau but didn't visit it, don't know if there is anything MZ there to visit anyway?

Here I have some photos:

Luggage rack made of ordinary steel pipe. Very useful.

Anyone got more pictures of MZ-traveling?

It was the first time for me in Poland, Slowakia and the Czech rep.
czech republic was certainly the most developed of the three, which I liked (best roads). Got a flat tyre around Plzeň, was kindly helped out by the locals :)
I liked the vehicles in those countries. Old Polski Fiats, Trabants, Škodas, Tatra's, Liaz, all of which you never see around here.
