Hi guys. I had to replace the neutral switch on my Baghira - the light wasn't coming on and the bike wouldn't start consequently. Easy to replace and bike works fine now. However, when the bike's in gear, the neutral light only dims instead of going off. Anyone had this problem?

The switch connects the bulb to ground. It sounds like you may have a short in the wire between the bulb and switch. Disconnect the wire from the screw on the end of the switch while in gear, and see what happens. If it still glows, you have a short. If it goes out, but glows when reconnected, you may need to shim the switch out with a very thin washer. Lossen it a turn, and if it then goes out, you need to shim. If you shim too much, it won't work at all.
If it glows after a turn, your switch is bad.

Sound mate. I disconnected the wire and grounded it in gear and the light came on dim. Gonna trace that short tomorrow.

there are some diodes in that circuit one of them may be going bad also
see articles about relay 19 and 30 it is used on the 660 bikes and the 125cc 4 strokes
its part of the side stand safety switch setup

I initially thought the problem was with the kill switch relay but it's fine. I fitted a Trailtech dash which includes a neutral light so I'm guessing my problem is in my wiring there. Is there anywhere to get a torque setting for the neutral switch? There's a wee bit of oil seeping out and I don't wanna over tighten it. I have an SZR service manual but it doesn't give a torque setting in that.
