Hi folks, my mastiff has a pretty bad oil leak, it looks to be coming from the gromit on the left hand side of the motor, just underneath the starter, so i removed the left hand side engine cover, is the alternator/magneto supposed to be submerged in oil? inside of the cover had quite a bit of oil all over it. the gromit isnt in properly so previous owner must have been in about it.

All I need to know is that if it a wet stator on these engines or not.

Yes,it is a wet stator.
