Recently found a 2001 660 Skorpion for sale...what issues should I be looking for before buying? What is a good price to pay?

The engines are pretty reliable if they start, aren't leaking and don't make any crazy noises. The tank is plastic so no need to worry about rust. If it runs and has under 30,000mi, I'd pay $2000 for a decent Skorpion, and up to $3000 for a very clean bike with low miles.

What he said...
If it has been sitting idle for a while, expect to clean the carbs to get it to run well.
Other than that, these things are a blast.
Good Luck,

How many miles? After this many years it would be wise to pay attention to the rubber parts, look for cracking on brake lines, breather hoses, coolant lines, etc. Check the chain and sprockets for excessive wear. Motors, unless abused, are solid as mentioned.
