MZ/MuZ Riders

I have done a LOT of research on this forum, advriders, google, thumpertalk, etc to know everything i can about this awesome bike. I can't believe how much fun i've been having with this thing... but I know it could be even more fun after upgrading a couple things. I feel like I’ve done enough research to warrant asking for some help on a few things. So here goes! I will post up answers and information as I go.

Forks & Monoshock
From what I can find these are the 45mm Marzocchi Forks (Same as late 95-98 KTM). I have confirmed this is correct. I have also confirmed that a set of fork boots from a 1996 KTM 360 fits right up no problems


I've heard that people swap out the forks and triple trees for the YZ/WR forks... is there a specific year? Again, lots of threads mention it, but no pictures, and no specific information.


Front Brakes
I know there are hundreds of threads that discuss the p30/34 brembo caliper upgrades but most of them aren’t very clear if this is a bolt on affair on the BAGHIRA’s specifically. From what I understand there is a bit of issue with the spoked wheel and trying to clear it. There isn’t much discussion on if I need to purchase a new bracket or if I need to offset the front wheel at all. Can anyone clear this up? Can I just purchase the caliper and purchase a master cylinder later for the front? So far no answers

I've heard Beringer 4-pot Calipers will work, with a relatively easy stock steel home made bracket. But what bike manufacturer uses the beringer 4-pot? What modifications need done? Can you still use the stock Grimeca M/C with it? So far no answers

I've also heard of the Harrison 6-pot w/ the 6 seperate pads... I've spoken with a rep over there and they still sell the Baghi/Mastiff 6 pots.. They will want to confirm your bolt spacing and ensure fitment before purchase. Below is my email

Our calipers are supplied complete, pads, pins, bolts etc and are a direct fitment to your stock front end.

Rear Brakes
Same for the rear… I’ve heard that I can upgrade to the p32f 2 piston caliper with ease and it’s a bolt on affair? Is this true for the BAGHIRA? I know this caliper looks like it’s used on most newer ducatis, aprilias, some KTM, and other bikes and can be found pretty easily in the US. I've never seen a picture with it on... at first glance, it looks like the inside pot casting will hit the spokes? No answers yet.


Frame Sliders and/or Case Savers (Protection)
Does anyone have any options for something to protect the cases? I’ve seen the stock cage that is made for the front and bottom of the frame but I have NO IDEA where I could get access to that. I have only seen pictures but have never seen any leads as to where I can purchase these.

Do they have bolt on frame sliders I can bolt to the bottom run of the frame to protect my cases bottom of the motor?


Axle Sliders
I have read that for these we have to drill and tap the existing setup… Anyone have other alternatives, or possibly pictures of your setups?


Sprocket & Chain
There are some discrepancies on what the stock gear ratios on the Street Moto are. I’ve heard that the stock for the Street Moto was 15F and 45R, or 43R…. I am running 15/45 at the moment w/ a 112 link EK chain w/ a Screw Type Master Link. If you run 43 you can get away with 110, 47 you can do 116, and so on... I ran a 49 sprocket in the rear and honestly, it was too rev happy. IMO 45 is pretty nice... If you like to wheelie a lot in higher gears go 47.

Gas Mileage
I get from 31 to 45 mpg depending on how I ride w/ a 15/45 Sprocket setup. It's wierd because I get awesome gas mileage when I am doing the backroads romping on it... and if I'm just cruising around lugging it around I get a little crappier mileage!

The brake....yep....it´s an Brembo P4 4 caliper brake, a Nissin 5/8 pump (from a Suzi TL 1000 or Yamaha R1 from ´02 etc.), custom made caliper adapter based on the SPIEGLER adapter, different brake line and a BRAKING 320mm disk. I´ve changed the pads to something better, SBS pads, art. number 566RS. They do their job very well. Spiegler don´t built the adapter anymore, so they send me the plans of it and a other firm made it for me. You must set the front wheel for ca. 2mm to the right because the disk slides at the fork if you don´t do that.

hi,front forks for the height reduced have no adjustment,full height version will/should have a blue knob on top of each leg,one does rebound the other compression, i think thats what its called,not sure without looking.
as for the rest,sorry not much help though someone will point you eventualy

Look like I have the full height version! Yep, one is compression and one is rebound... No wonder this thing is so high! Are these the Marzocchi's then, or the Paioli's? Thank you!!! It sounds like they are the Marzocchi's.

Hopefully I can put together a sticky information thread on these different categories with links to healthy threads. I'm still reading all I can... Any other input would be great guys. Thank you in advance.

What exhaust did you use?

It's just a Gtyr Yamaha muffler welded on... It's louuuud! But it sounds awesome under load

The problem with that is there is nowhere to attach the top of them - you'd have to use cable ties, and then they tend to slide down, or hose clamps. Better to use Seal Savers. I got some, I was just looking through my old order information folder but i can't find the order. I just remember there are two sizes/lengths - a short one that just covers the seals and a longer one that covers most of the stanchion tubes. Do a search - you'll find sealsavers.com and a bunch of threads on advrider.

I have a queston on the battery it seams that the black wire is the positive wire and the light brown wire is the negative. Is that correct?

Yes, brown is negative. I replaced mine with black and red. You can get flexible arc welding cable.

I just put red tape on the pos lead,black tape on neg side just to be sure

Just one zip tie on the fork tube right underneath the lower triple. I cleaned it all with alky right there and since its rubber it stays very well... no sliding at all! I'm really happy with them.

The Exhaust Slider is made from this really thick pipe they have at Lowes/Home-Depot. They also Have Pneumatic brake line you can use but they didn't have any. Anyway, the piece I used is really really hard and is two layers - has hard rubber on the inside and the harder polymer on the outside. I got the really nice 4" clamps and slid it through and that thing isn't going anywhere. Those $100 sliders are made of literally the same stuff, I can't believe the scam they are running. It cost me $8.00 total because I bought enough hose for two.
